VNLA Advocacy 101: Preparing for Legislative Day

In advance of VNLA’s 2026 Legislative Day on Thursday, January 15, 2026, we invite members to join VNLA Advocacy 101, a virtual briefing led by VNLA’s lobbyist, Brad Copenhaver.

This session will provide an overview of VNLA’s legislative priorities, the structure of the Virginia General Assembly, and what to expect when meeting with legislators and staff. Whether you are new to advocacy or a seasoned Legislative Day participant, Advocacy 101 will help you feel confident, informed, and ready to effectively represent the green industry.

Topics will include:

• VNLA’s 2026 legislative agenda and key policy issues
• How the General Assembly session works
• Tips for communicating with legislators and sharing your story
• What to expect on Legislative Day and how to prepare

Advocacy 101 is the perfect ramp up to Legislative Day and a great refresher for returning advocates. Just bring your industry experience and your voice!
